Dana got a job! She is going to be the server for an ice cream man. It is a perfect first summer job! I am so proud of her, she is of course super excited and starts on Tuesday. Poor thing has to work on her birthday.... welcome to the workforce lol

Ghosts from my past

Today was the memorial service for Drew, a friend from my Rocky Horror (and beyond) days. I was very, very hesitant to go because of the ghosts of my past I didn't know if I wanted to see again. We were a pretty crazy bunch and I was trying to do the responsible parent thing. I loved my friends but knew that parts of my lifestyle werent healthy. That was along time ago, I disappeared and severed ties with a lot of good people and knew I hurt some feelings along the way. With some gentle nudging from a friend from work (she made me cry!) I went to show my respects. Im so glad I went! The memorial was beautiful, full of tears yes, but also lots of laughter.... and hugs! I was genuinely happy to see some old dear friends that I have lost touch with. We went to coffee afterwards at Frankie Doodles, and as always took over the sun porch, sharing stories and pictures from the old days. Some *blush that I had forgotten about. and of course.... the party pictures of a certain LJ user putting a wig on a cat named Riff. LOL We exchanged lots of numbers, emails and of course saying we should all get together for something other than a sad occasion..... but then you always say that at such gatherings only time will tell....

We are moving :) I am so tired of living paycheck to paycheck so I am going to be sharing a house with my friend Chrissy. She has an empty basement ( 3 room) and a room upstairs. I think it will go well and am now getting a little excited. I started packing and cleaning today. I havent given notice as we just decided to do it.

and I am here alone in my living room on the computer... sigh... I'm kinda getting tired of this single life thing. I know.. blah, blah blah lol

anyhow... been an ok day. Work actually went by fast today so that was nice. A good end to a long week. Its busy busy on the weekends. Its nice bc overtime is available... this weekend however is a Lily weekend so I am not taking any. Its hard enough working until 3:00, but I will get used to it soon. I already like staying up later and sleeping in. Yay! Also another plus is that so many people are now 7-3 shift carpooling is becoming a big thing. WIth the price of gas these days it just makes sence. I like the company and saving money is good too.

The kittens are doing well. They are trying to open their eyes a little bit. The mews are getting louder.... Still hard to sleep through. I cant wait until they have personalities. Yay kittens!

Bored, bored, bored.... I have to go update my other blog, but I promised to get better over here.... so I came here first. Feel honored?? As you should! Teehee

Charles Martin Meier passed away Monday morning. He has been sick, for a long long time and he is finally at peace. However all hell is breaking loose within my family once again. My father was notified Monday morning and did not hear anything else from his sisters. It took my dear sister fairestcat to post the obituary (link above) and contact my father about his fathers memorial. It is Friday... which leaves me no time but at least some of my family will be there to show their respects.

It was told to me that Grandpa (Charlie) would most like to be remembered in a bar, with a pitcher of his favorite beer (MGD lol) with friends. I intend to do my best... I loved him very much. Sad.... wish I could stop crying....

Has Passed Away

Please join us in remembering a great icon of the entertainment
community.
The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection and trauma complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was 71.

Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin. Bakers dozens of celebrities turned out to pay their respects, including Mrs. Butterworth, Hungry Jack, the California Raisins, Betty Crocker, and Captain Crunch.
The grave site was piled high with flours.

Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described Doughboy as a man who never knew how much he was kneaded. Doughboy rose quickly in show business, but his later life was filled with turnovers. He was not considered a very smart cookie, wasting much of his dough on half-baked schemes. Despite being a little flaky at times he still was a crusty old man and was considered a positive roll model for millions.

Doughboy is survived by his wife Play Dough, two children, John Dough and Jane Dough, plus they had one in the oven. He is also survived by his elderly father, Pop Tart. The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes.
